So, I guess it's official (for as long as it lasts as it's been changed a hundred times), but TODAY is my last day.
Office manager came in and reminded me to make sure that my new office turns in all of their transfer paperwork ASAP as today would be my last day. I asked about setting up new girl and he said that they would take care of it. I also asked if he wanted me to do the transfer letters for her and he told me just to do a template because they didn't know how much she was really going to get (as I raised an eyebrow!)
So, I went and talked to commercial claims counsel who is from Chicago and is my midwest ally here in the office and trained me on the system. She's also in charge of re-assigning files when someone leaves. I just went to say goodbye, but she asked where my claims were going as she hadn't heard anything about doing transfers. I told her that I had spent time with new girl last week and she raised HER eyebrows. But, I told her I didn't know as they were waffling this morning. She didn't say much so I just said it was their problem to solve now and there was nothing else I can add. She agreed and said she'd make sure it was taken care of. On my way out the door, she added that "don't you have a more complex claim load?" I told her that I had a lot of boundary line/legal description disputes. She said, "yes, you have a complex one. Well, that will be considered." Then she told me not to be a stranger and to keep in touch and let her know the midwestern goings on.
So, I guess this is the end for awhile. I'm sure I'll be dragged into some things along the way that will follow me around, but hopefully that will cease quickly.
Thank you everyone for dealing with my ranting about my issues here. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and this pessimist soul is starting to think maybe it isn't a train or the firey pits of hell!
Everyone have a great week!
